New Orleans, LA
Nestled on coast of the Mississippi river, this wonderfully exciting city will fill your days and nights with millions of new things to try. Obviously, Bourbon Street is the first on everyone's list. Found in New Orleans's historic French Quarter, Bourbon Street is the home to many famous jazz clubs and other places to party the whole night through. The city is always busy!
Aside from the partying, the richness of the history in New Orleans will keep your days busy. Tours are available through all of the historic districts throughout the area. The first Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis Cathedral, can be seen on many of the tours, along with the famous riverboats along the Mississippi River.
If history isn't your thing, Six Flags will do the trick. With the famous Batman the Ride Roller coaster soaring 105 feet at fifty miles per hour, this ride attracts many who are eager for that rush. Mardi Gras World is also a must-see museum when visiting New Orleans, allowing for the history and fun of Mardi Gras to come alive right before your eyes!
San Francisco, CA
Shifting the fun to the West Coast of the United States, San Francisco appeals to everyone. Found between San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean, historic San Fran delivers fun, excitement, and a lot of entertainment.
Tours throughout the city take you to the famous sights such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. No doubt you'll hear once or twice about the fire that burned for three days and the tower built in thanks for the firefighters who rescued the city. Other tours will take those interested to nearby Napa and Sonoma Valleys where wine is their specialty, or on a scenic tour of Highway 101, Pebble Beach, and Carmel.
Inside the city, there is plenty to do. Fisherman's Warf provides shops, the Hard Rock Café, and many boat tours to occupy the day. An aquarium can be found for those interested and tons of antiques and unique buys can be found throughout the streets. Downtown San Francisco provides a famous ride on the trolleys, a must-do for anyone visiting the city. Market Street, where all the major corporations can be found, is also a very interesting sight to see.
Boston, MA
If "firsts" are what you're after, Boston is the place to find them. Everything is a first in this wonderfully historic and entertaining city. From the first fireplace to the first restaurant where "everybody knows your name," visitors to Boston will never be without something to do. Plus, everything is in walking distance!
Historically, tours can take you around the city to the different landmarks including the Freedom Trail, Paul Reveres House, and the sight of the Boston Massacre. Boston Harbor also provides an interactive reenactment of the Boston Tea Party, allowing the visitors to partake in the famous act that was thought to start the American Revolution. Nearby Plymouth Rock takes visitors back to the first settlements, literally.
Aside from the historical groundwork of the city, places such as Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market provide over a hundred shops and restaurants in one designated area. The North End provides an authentic Italian addition to the city with many delicious restaurants lining Hanover Street. Boston Common, in the center of the city, is Boston's Central Park, with acres of beauty and relaxing walkways.
A short trip out of Boston will also take you to many places. Cape Cod, about an hour drive, can give a scenic, beach feel to your vacation. New York City is also only about five hours away!
