My Life as a Senior

At the end of last spring, I could not have been more excited to be a senior. I thought that being a senior would be a breeze. I thought I would take easy classes, hit up trivia at Fiddlers as much as possible, and work on my tan three hours a day.
Boy was I wrong! In these three short weeks since we have been back at Rollins, I have realized that being a senior is hard work. There are so many things that we have to do, and not just forms we have to fill out in order to graduate or announcements that have to be ordered. We have to figure out what we are going to do with our lives after May 13.
May 13: It is 230 days (give or take a few depending on what day you are reading this) away from today. Now that may seem like an eternity to some and to others it may seem like it is too close for comfort. I am somewhere in the middle. I have no idea what I am going to do next year, but I am excited to live up my last year, figure what lies ahead and graduate.
I spent this summer studying for the GRE, which I have not yet taken. I am not even sure if I am going to take the GRE, let alone know where I am going to apply to grad schools. I know that Student Records is a great resource as a student in any class, but have I taken full advantage of their services? No. I have not updated my resume since last spring, and I have not attended a Senior Success Workshop. These are all things that I am going to be dealing with and writing about in the coming weeks.
Being a senior is stressful, exciting, exhausting, and unpredictable and that is exactly what this column is going to deal with. This year, I am going to be writing a weekly column that chronicles my preparation for life after Rollins. Hopefully, I will help some seniors with staying on track and give the freshmen, sophomores and juniors a precursor of what is to come.
I want this column to be hands on, so if anyone (not just you seniors) has a question in regards to career services, graduation requirements, the GRE or any other admissions test, ect please email them to BLANK. I will be sure to answer as many as I can. Besides chronicling some of my preparations and answering your questions, I am going to include some important dates, a weekly vocabulary word, and a tip of the week.
