New Databases in Olin

The Olin Library adds Six New Databases and Hundreds of Fulltext Journals.

With more and more students accessing the library from their dorms, online resources is a major priority for the Olin Library. Purchasing full-text, online material continues to be the number one request students ask of the library, and we have heard you! We are pleased to announce the following new full-text databases:

Business students and faculty are going to enjoy using NetAdvantage. It includes a large selection of resources for U.S. companies, mutual funds, and industries. The Industry Surveys segment provides detailed information on the background and economic trends of 50+ major U.S. industries.

Communications faculty and students will be interested in Communication & Mass Media Complete. The database provides abstracts of articles from almost 600 journals in of communication, mass media and other closely-related fields of study. Approximately half of the articles have full text.

Psychology students can use PsycArticles to get the full-text of the 56 journals published by the American Psychological Association.

Everyone in the sciences and social sciences can now use Science Direct to access a large collection of full-text, peer-reviewed journals in the Health & Life Sciences (850 journals) and in the Social & Behavioral Sciences (360 journals.)

We have also added more to JSTOR that bring 60 full text journals in the field of Biology, plus 150 additional titles to our general Arts & Sciences collection.

Who's Who Biographical Database contains over 1.3 million biographies on leaders and achievers from around the world in the areas of business, law, science, medicine, the arts, government, entertainment and more. In addition, there are over 110,000 historical biographies from Who Was Who in America volumes (1607-1985).

All of these databases are available on the Olin Library website at http://www.rollins.edu/olin/databases/index.html, All the online journals are available from the E-journals list at http://www.rollins.edu/olin/journals/index.html] and can be searched from off-campus by all Rollins' students or faculty using a PC.
