Golf
Men's
Rollin's men golf finished eighth at the 2006 Rollins College Invitational at Forest Lake Golf Club in Ocoee. Nova Southeastern took top honors, shooting eleven under par to win the team championship. Columbus State came in second, followed closely by Florida Southern College. Junior David DeNunzio led the Rollins players with a twenty sixth place finish. Jeff Golden and Ronald DeNunzio also made it in the top thirty out of sixty eight competitors. The Rollins men's golf team finish off their fall season at the Stetson Invitational on November sixth and seventh.
Women's
Rollins was unbeatable at the 2006 Ross Resorts Invitational, hosted by Rollins at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The women came away with the team championship despite a threatening move for first by Princeton's team. They had to settle for second with Harvard and Xavier University tied in a distant third. In a battling echoing the team competition junior Vanessa Vela defeated Princeton's Marlow Boukis to become the tournament medalist. The Tars' Cristina Gugler captured third while Marie-Pierre Bernier tied for seventh. Laura Fourdraine came in thirteenth, the last Rollins player in the top twenty, although Caitlin Berry tied for eighteenth place playing unattached. The Tars take this tremendous victory into a long break before they return on February 3 and 4 at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate in South Carolina.
