Rollins is coming together yet again to fulfill our commitment to global citizenship by hosting a music festival this Saturday, Feb. 6 at 4 p.m. at Mary Jean Plaza. The Office of Community Engagement and Adrian Cohn (Class of 2010) have been working for two weeks to bring campus together to help raise money for Haiti. They have teamed up with ROC, JUMP, Rollins Relief, Professor Kistler's Foundations of the Caribbean class, Holt SGA, Spectrum, CSA, and other organizations to plan a great event. The festival will include a volleyball tournament hosted by Kistler's class with teams formed by students at $5 per person. A market will be selling plants, art, and other trinkets with all proceeds to benefit Haiti. Local businesses will also contribute items for a prize drawing and silent auction, in addition to donation centers at the event.

A great addition to the festival will be the chance to work with Change This World, a company that has been sending thousands of relief kits to Haiti. Students will get the chance to help build these relief kits that will be sent straight to Haiti. The goal is to make 5,000 relief kits, each of which can feed six people.

"This is going to be a great event to spend time with friends and family, have fun, listen to some music, and help our brothers and sisters in Haiti," said Gabe Anderson, who works in the Office of Community Engagement. Any questions or concerns, including inquiries about volunteering, can be directed to Adrian Cohn, acohn@rollins.edu, Adrianne Benso, abenso@rollins.edu, or Gabe Anderson, gcanderson@rollins.edu.
