Rollins established its offense early with help from Mayson Quartlebaum (graduate student), who scored the Tars’ first six points and set the tone. A three-pointer by Marshall Klug (‘26) tied the game at 15 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first half. Going into halftime, the Tars were winning 58-45, a strong start — but one that could easily be overturned.

Quartlebaum, who has now gone three straight games with more than 20 scoring points, held consecutive possessions, helping Rollins move in front for good. Ricky Ghedini (‘27) contributed seven straight points midway through the half and consistently facilitated the offense, finding open teammates as Florida Southern attempted to adjust defensively.

The Tars extended their advantage in the second half with balanced efforts on both ends of the court. Omar Figueroa (graduate student) provided scoring and defensive pressure while Michael Kalina (‘27) added energy through rebounding and playmaking. Jett Wells (‘28) scored a layup in the final minute.

Rollins maintained control throughout the final stretch, limiting Florida Southern’s opportunities and preventing any late momentum shift. The margin widened in the closing minutes as Rollins closed out the game to secure a decisive 99–76 victory.

The game, played Feb. 7, carried added context given the teams’ recent history and rivalry. Rollins’ victory marked its first win over the Moc’s since the 2020–21 season. The game also drew increased attendance from both sides — Florida Southern traveling with members of its dance team and supporters and Rollins stands being nearly full — contributing to the atmosphere inside the Alfond Sports Center.
