The brand Peace Tea is a fan favorite among some in the Rollins community.
After the drink was removed from the Rollins dining hall, Saumya Khelani (‘29), SGA dining senator, helped bring the drink back to Coca-Cola Freestyle machines for students and faculty several weeks ago on Oct. 20.

Khelani reached out to dining services to share that students were hoping to see Peace Tea back in the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines at the Campus Center.
Though dining services then returned the drink to the dining hall, the tea’s arrival was short-lived. After dining services spoke with Khelani, she informed students via Yik Yak that the drink was discontinued.
She said, “I was later informed that they added it back temporarily to finish out the remaining stock they had available…after this cartridge [of Peace Tea] is finished, it will not be available anymore.”
The official Coca- Cola website still lists Peace Tea as an active brand. While the tea remains in production, beverage-focused blogs like Liquid Insider and Drink for Good report that the availability of flavors and stock varies by region.
There are still cans of Peace Tea on the market online and in stores like Dollar Tree or Walmart, but flavors such as Caddy Shack, Lemon, and the brand’s version of sweet tea are no longer available in Coca-Cola machines. Many students have been upset about this. An anonymous quote from Yik Yak reads, “why would you do this? this is the worst news I’ve heard in weeks.” Another anonymous quote says, “why was it gone in the first place?”
Khelani said she was disappointed to hear the news, “especially since it was something that students were clearly excited to have back in the dining hall.” She said that her main priority as Rollins’ dining senator is “making sure that students are happy with the dining experience and making sure their voice is heard.” She said that Rollins plans “on replacing it [Peace Tea] with Brisk Tea, providing a similar sweet tea option for students.”
Recently, Khelani worked on an Instagram collaboration with SGA and Dining Services. It highlights the newest monthly updates and improvements happening in the dining hall.
Khelani said there are a variety of ways students can share feedback with Dining Services. This is possible by either writing on the napkin bulletin board in the dining hall, by filling out the current Dining Services feedback survey, or by reaching out to her directly via email (skhelani@rollins.edu) or Instagram (saumyakhelani06).
