
The Rollins Tars swept the Saint Leo Lions in three sets while donning their pink jerseys for Breast Cancer Awareness. The game was deemed the Tars “Dig Pink” game where the jerseys are auctioned off in support of the Sideout Foundation, which funds breast cancer research.
“Being a part of the Rollins Volleyball team is such a blessing when it comes to raising awareness for a cause,” Kyla Krimmel (‘29) said. “During the Dig Pink game I realized how incredible it is to be able to play and fight for something much bigger than me.”
Before the match started, Makayla Moran (‘26) was recognized for surpassing 300 career blocks in the game versus Eckerd on Oct. 14.
Starting off the match, the Tars held a close first set and won 25-21 with 7 kills from Cameron Grange (‘27) and 3 each from Robinson Repass (‘27), Moran, and Rylee Yarborough (‘29).
For the second set, the Tars built an early lead and kept it throughout the entire match with 0 lead changes and 0 tied scores, winning 25-18. Marta Tsaneva (‘26) and Yarborough recorded 4 kills in the second set, with Tsaneva hitting .579% overall.
Taking their momentum into the third set with a new lineup, the Tars found themselves a 25-20 win. The offense was spread out as Krimmel switched out of her libero jersey and logged 3 kills as an outside hitter; Willow Barron (‘28) recorded 2, and Tsaneva continued to lead with 5 kills.
The Tars are now 13-8 overall and have a conference record of 2-6. They will host Florida Tech on Oct. 21 with the first serve set for 7:00 p.m.
