Photo Gallery: Rollins Celebrates 5th Annual Thaddeus and Polly Seymour Acts of Kindness Day

On February 18, Rollins celebrated its annual Thaddeus and Polly Seymour Acts of Kindness Day, honoring the legacy of the college’s 12th president, Thaddeus Seymour, and his wife, Polly. The day featured several events around the college to spread kindness on campus and extend it to the local community.

The day started early with a labyrinth peace walk led by Dean Briscoe.

The peace walk was followed by many “5-minute difference” stations led by different departments on campus like The Wellness Center, The Social Impact Hub, and Music Club. Throughout the day there were opportunities to donate blood, make stuffed animals for children, and write messages in chalk around campus. There was also a celebration of life for Polly Seymour’s recent passing followed by a reception at the Rollins Labyrinth.

Delia Miller, pictured here, is the muralist.

Acts of Kindness Day ended with two mural unveilings. One was done by recent transfer student, Delia Miller, and the other was a collaborative mural by several Rollins students and staff. Both murals are on display on the fifth floor of the Rollins Parking Garage. Thaddeus and Polly Seymour Acts of Kindness Day continues to be a celebration of service and compassion in their honor, 2025 marking its 5th annual observance.
