
Rollins women’s volleyball faced off against Florida Southern College on Nov. 8, falling 1-3 in a four-set match.
The match took place during Rollins’ Family Weekend, with players’ families joining them on the court during lineup announcements.
In the first set, the Tars and Mocs went back and forth with eight tied scores and two lead changes. Tied at 13-13, Florida Southern pulled ahead with a five-point run and maintained control to take the set, 25-15.
The second set followed a similar pattern, with seven ties and two lead changes. With the score tied at 20-20, The Mocs closed the set on another five-point run. Florida Southern recorded 15 kills in the set compared to Rollins’ 10.
Rollins responded in the third set, opening with a 2–0 lead and keeping pace early. Kills from Cameron Grange (‘27) and Marta Tsaneva (‘26), along with an ace from Jenna Garza (‘27), helped the Tars pull even at 7–7. The teams continued trading points until Rollins gained momentum late, highlighted by back-to-back kills from Tsaneva, another from Grange, and an ace from Emma Gongora (‘28) to go up 21–18. The Tars closed out the set 25–21 to force a fourth.
The fourth set mirrored the match’s earlier pace, featuring eight ties and six lead changes. With the score tied at 28-28, Florida Southern finished the set with a Rollins error and two kills from Morgan Word to secure the match. Despite the loss, Rollins led offensively in the set with 17 kills, including eight offensively, while the Mocs finished with 16.
Overall, Rollins totaled 51 kills and 10 aces, while Florida Southern recorded 50 kills and five aces. Tsaneva led the match with 16 kills, followed by Grange with 15. Makayla Moran (‘26) finished with eight blocks, and Gongora led with three aces.
Rollins is now 14-14 overall (3-12 SSC), while Florida Southern improves to 12-12 (6-10 SSC). Looking ahead, the Tars will be on the road against Eckerd on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
