The Women’s Soccer team faced off against Florida Southern College on Oct. 8, losing 1-0.

It was a tough in-conference match: the Florida Southern Mocs entered with a 5-1-2 overall record (2-1-1 in conference), while the Tars sat at 4-3-1 overall (0-2-1 in conference).

The Mocs took three shots early in the game. Goalkeeper Lauren Mehos (’27) made two early saves and three saves in total to help counter the Mocs’ offensive pressure.

The Tars recorded four shots in the first period and two in the second with two shots on target, both being saved by Florida Southern’s goalkeeper.

With tough defense on both sides and a back-to-back battle for possession, eventually the Mocs’ pushed ahead with Rilee Hasegawa scoring around the 70th minute mark.

Working to get on the scoreboard, the Tars kept pushing offensively through the final minutes but fell short.

Continuing conference play, the Tars will host Nova Southeastern on Oct. 11.
